Indian Ocean Coast

Zanzibar

Where the safari exhales

Overview

After the dust and drama of the bush, Zanzibar is the exhale: turquoise water, white coral sand, and the scent of cloves drifting through carved doorways a thousand years old.

Stone Town's labyrinth of alleys tells the story of Swahili, Arab, Indian and European trade winds. Beyond the town, the island unfolds into spice farms, jozani forest and beaches that rank among the finest in the Indian Ocean.

As a Dar es Salaam-based company, Zanzibar is our backyard. We match travellers to the right coast — the tidal east, the swimming beaches of the north, or the quiet southwest — and handle every transfer, from bush airstrip to beachfront.

The landscape

A coral island fringed by reef and powder-white beaches, with spice plantations and mangrove creeks in its green interior.

Good to Know

Questions, answered

It depends on how you like your ocean. Nungwi and Kendwa in the north offer all-day swimming; the east coast (Paje, Jambiani) is tidal, breezy and beautiful; Fumba and the southwest are quiet and boutique. We'll match you to the right coast.
