Serengeti Fly-In

Straight to the plains, no long drives

The Journey

Overview

Every hour of this itinerary is spent in the Serengeti itself. Light aircraft from Arusha put you on a bush airstrip before mid-morning on day one, and four nights in a single well-placed camp mean you unpack once and spend your days going deep rather than moving on.

Highlights

  • Light-aircraft flights in and out — no transfer days
  • Four nights in one camp, chosen for the season
  • Optional dawn hot-air balloon flight
  • Full-day drives with picnic breakfasts
  • The quietest sectors we can reach for your dates

Day by Day

How the journey unfolds

  1. Day 1

    Fly to the Serengeti

A morning flight from Arusha over the Rift Valley and onto a bush airstrip. Your guide meets the plane, and the drive to camp is your first game drive.

  2. Day 2

    Full day on the plains

Out at first light with breakfast in the vehicle. Big cats are the morning's business; the afternoon follows whatever the day offers.

  3. Day 3

    Balloon & bush breakfast

An optional dawn balloon flight over waking herds, landing to a champagne breakfast in the grass. Afternoon at leisure, or back out with your guide.

  4. Day 4

    Going further

A long day pushing into a quieter sector — packed lunch, no fixed return time, and the freedom to sit with a sighting for as long as it holds.

  5. Day 5

    Fly out

A final short drive to the airstrip and the flight back to Arusha, connecting to Zanzibar or your international departure.

Good to Know

Questions, answered

Driving from Arusha to the Serengeti takes the better part of a day each way. Flying converts two travel days into two safari days — for a five-day trip that is the difference between a taste and a proper visit.
