Stone Town, spice farms and a proper stretch of beach

The Journey

Zanzibar on its own terms rather than as a safari afterthought. Two nights in Stone Town for the history, the food and the carved doorways, then three on the coast we match to you — the swimming beaches of the north, the breezy tidal east, or the quiet southwest.

Highlights

  • Guided walk through Stone Town's UNESCO old quarter
  • Spice farm visit with a tasting lunch
  • Snorkelling trip to Mnemba Atoll
  • Sunset dhow cruise

Day by Day

How the journey unfolds

  1. Day 1

    Arrive in Zanzibar

Met at the airport or the ferry and taken into Stone Town. The rest of the day is yours — the old quarter is best discovered slowly and on foot.

  2. Day 2

    Stone Town & spices

A morning walking tour through the alleys, markets and the former slave market memorial, then out to a spice farm for a tasting lunch. Sunset dhow cruise to finish.

  3. Day 3

    To the coast

Drive across the island, stopping at Jozani Forest to look for the endemic red colobus, and settle into your beach hotel by lunchtime.

  4. Days 4–5

    The beach

Two full days at your own pace. We can arrange snorkelling at Mnemba, diving, kitesurfing lessons or a fishing trip — or you can arrange nothing at all, which is a perfectly good plan.

  5. Day 6

    Depart

A last swim, then the transfer to the airport for your onward flight.

Good to Know

Questions, answered

It depends on how you like your ocean. Nungwi and Kendwa in the north swim all day; the east coast is tidal, breezy and beautiful; the southwest is quiet and boutique. We ask a few questions before booking rather than guessing.
