Is safari safe?
Yes — wildlife viewing from a vehicle with a professional guide is remarkably safe. Animals see the vehicle as a single large, uninteresting object. The rules are simple: stay seated, keep voices low, and follow your guide's lead. Camps brief you on walking at night (always with an escort).
Will I actually see the animals?
In Tanzania's flagship parks, yes. The Serengeti and Ngorongoro hold wildlife densities that surprise even experienced travellers. No ethical operator guarantees specific sightings, but lions, elephants, giraffes and zebra are near-certainties on a multi-day northern circuit safari.
What does a day look like?
Wake before dawn with coffee, drive while the light is gold and the predators are active, breakfast in the bush, then back to camp through the heat of midday. Lunch, siesta, and out again from four until sunset. Dinner under more stars than you have ever seen. Repeat, gladly.
